Leadership is the art of understanding motivations, influencing people and teams, and communicating purpose and direction to accomplish stated goals while improving the organization.”

Lt. Gen. Mark Hertling, U.S. Army (Ret.)Growing Physician Leaders, 2016

Four ways to build stronger leaders.

Whether you're developing an entire organization or one person ready for what's next, the work starts the same way: know where you are, know where you're going.

Leader Development Programs

Custom, organization-wide programs built from the ground up. We begin by assessing how your organization develops leaders today and understanding your mission and vision. From there we design a comprehensive training framework that grows leaders at every employee level, builds high-performance teams, and helps you retain your best people.

  • Understand mission, motivations, and influence
  • Lead up

Col. Teeples is one of the strongest leaders I ever served for. His incredible ability to make sound decisions based upon evidence and practice, along with the human side of knowing his leader's strengths, exceeds others. I went to war with Col. Teeples, and I would follow him anywhere.

Leadership is personal. So is he.

Dave Teeples has spent his life around leaders: commanding them, developing them, and learning from them. A retired U.S. Army Colonel and graduate of the National War College at National Defense University, he's taught leadership to soldiers and executives alike, and he brings the same conviction to both. Leadership starts with knowing yourself.

Over three decades in uniform, Dave was hand-picked to serve at the Pentagon as executive assistant to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, advising at the highest levels of national leadership. He then brought that same craft to the civilian world, helping design a leader-development program for all 24,000 employees of Florida Hospital in Orlando before founding TLI.

Off the clock, he and Sue, his wife of 50 years, are happiest outdoors, on a beach or in the mountains. In 2021 Dave became a certified Enneagram coach, and at TLI he now works alongside his son Josh, also a certified Enneagram instructor and coach.

“TLI coaching will help you be a better teammate, a better leader, and a better person.”

“The Enneagram is a powerful diagnostic tool for uncovering the unconscious motivations that drive our behavior, thoughts, and feelings. Rather than merely categorizing behavior, it serves as a lifelong map for cultivating deep self-awareness, compassion, and personal transformation.”

    Meet Josh Teeples.

    Enneagram Instructor & Coach

Josh leads TLI's Enneagram classes. A 2014 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, he spent years working with autistic and special-needs children before the Enneagram became his focus, drawn to how it helps people truly know and understand themselves and others. He is a certified Enneagram coach.

Off the clock, Josh is an avid reader, a big sports fan, and happiest anywhere near the water. He's the first person a friend calls when they need advice, or just someone who will listen in a way that makes them feel truly heard.
